Financials

KU’s Financial System implementation provides a striking opportunity to leapfrog several technologies and move directly to the bleeding edge – and that’s what we intend to do by making this move. We are starting from a PeopleSoft 9.0 implementation, software that was written over a decade ago, and moving to Oracle’s Financials in the Cloud, a cloud based ERP financial system that brings us into both modern technology and modern support.  The new financial system will lower our total cost of ownership while simplifying future upgrades and delivering new and exciting functionality to our end-users.

The modules identified for replacement include:

General Ledger
Accounts Payable
Procurement
Contracts
Grants
Accounts Receivables
Asset Management
Expenses (a.k.a. Travel)
Inventory

KU has engaged Highstreet IT Solutions, a veteran of Higher Education implementations, to assist us in making functional decisions regarding configuration and management of our cloud based financials system. They will help us determine how to configure our desired functionality, implement and support it, and train our end users for the best possible experience when we go live.
